Overview

Nepal is the home of a fascinating variety of wild animals and birds, including endangered species like the Royal Bengal Tiger and one-horned rhinos. Wildlife safari tours at the National Parks are greatly enjoyed activities in Nepal. The country is a tiny country but enjoys a climatic diversity ranging from hot/humid to alpine/arctic conditions, hence harboring an incredible variety of flora and fauna. So, we are very rich in wildlife activities. The tropical jungles of the Terai preserve some of the best wildlife habitat in the subcontinent. Nepal has 16 national parks, wildlife reserves, and conservation areas, occupying 16 percent of its total geographical area. Some famous national parks that lie in the plains (Terai) of Nepal are Bardia National Park, Koshi Tapu Wildlife Park, and Parsa Wildlife Reserve. However, we highly recommend visiting our guest for Chitwan National Park. It is about 155 km south of Kathmandu. An unbeatable feeling of being in the wild pervades in the lodges at the national park.

Nepal Himalaya Tours offers a comprehensive wildlife tour of two nights and three days with a deluxe package program, or you can stay a few more days as you wish, inclusive of food and accommodations with wildlife jungle activities. The main activities in the Chitwan National Park are elephant safaris, canoe rides, jungle walks, bird-watching tours, and jeep safaris. A two-night stay is the minimum time needed to experience Chitwan, and for wildlife enthusiasts, we recommend staying an extra day. The lodges operate round-the-year except during the monsoon (June – September), when most lodges are closed because of the monsoon. The quickest way to get there is to fly from Kathmandu to Bharatpur; it is a very short 20-minute flight, and then our jungle guide will meet you for the short drive to Jungle Resort Camp. Chitwan National Park is easily accessible by road from Kathmandu or Pokhara as well, which will take about 4 to 5 hours to drive. Lying in the Terai belt, encompassed by the Churia Hills and flanked by the Rapti, Reu, and Narayani rivers. It covers an area of 932 sq. km. It was established in 1973 and is the oldest national park in Nepal. The park became a World Heritage Site in 1984.

Know Before You Go

Nepal is geographically located between China and India—a landlocked country, it is a naturally beautiful country. People also know the place where Lord Buddha was born and the country of Mt. Everest, so we believe it is a myth of heaven. Here we can get the variety of weather and different land structures here in Nepal. In the northern part of Nepal, you can see the panoramic mountains, including Mt. Everest—the top of the world. The middle part of Nepal is a hilly region; Kathmandu and Pokhara are also included in the hilly region, and it is a land for trekking and hiking. Hilly regions are the gateway to adventure trekking trails like Langtang, Everest, and Annapurna. The southern part of the country is the Terai region, and you can find flat land and warm weather where you will have a wildlife safari tour in Chitwan National Park. Nepal Himalaya Tours will provide you with the best transportation, deluxe hotel accommodation, and helicopters for Everest mountain flights as well if you wish (but it is not included in the package). We also organize the Everest breakfast tour by helicopter at the Everest View Hotel, Syangboche, where you can see the Mt. Everest courtyard.
