Key trip facts at a glance.
The Langtang Trek with helicopter return trip offers stunning views of snow-capped peaks and peaceful valleys. A perfect escape into the heart of the mountains. Langtang Valley is located only 90 km north of Kathmandu, close to the border of Tibet (China). The valley is dominated by Langtang Lirung (7246 m), the highest peak in the area. It is a superb introduction to trekking in Nepal among some of the most beautiful scenery in the whole country and fascinating unspoiled Sherpa villages.
Following the Trisuli River north out of Kathmandu, we travel through Trisuli Bazaar and Dhunche to Syabrubensi, a Sherpa village located at the very edge of the Langtang National Park. We then swing east into the Langtang Valley, crossing the river several times as we travel up along a gorge-like, lower section of the valley. We pass through oak and rhododendron forests and even cross glacial moraine on our way to the Tamang village of Langtang. After this beautiful Langtang village trek, we fly back by helicopter from Kyanjing Gompa to Kathmandu.
The Langtang Valley Trek is a Moderate trail in the Langtang region. It is suitable for passionate walkers who have the ability to walk at least 5 to 8 hours a day with a light rucksack. On some days we might even need to walk for 6 to 8 hours. Walking in higher altitudes is more physically demanding than walking in the lower altitudes; however, if we are in excellent health with average physical fitness, have a positive attitude, and have strong determination, we may accomplish the trek successfully. Exercising and jogging regularly is a good idea to enhance our strength and stability. No previous trekking experience is needed for the Langtang trek. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood diseases should inform us before booking the trips.
We will organize for you the best hotel accommodation in Kathmandu as per your requirements, and teahouse lodges will be used during the Langtang Valley trek. All accommodations are on a twin-shared basis. However, tea houses in some places only have shared washing and toilet facilities. Also note that single rooms are readily available in Kathmandu and the trekking area at lower elevations, but it might be difficult to find them at higher elevations. So do not expect deluxe accommodation in the rural areas. However, we will provide you the best one available.
You will have fresh Nepali foods during the trek; however, there are also Western and continental foods available. We don’t recommend taking those foods because they may have been stored for a long time, so traditional Nepali foods like dal bhat tarkari are the best while trekking. Somewhere you can see a full slogan: “Dal bhat power, 24 hours.”
