The Everest Explore Helicopter Tour, with landings at Kala Patthar, begins early in the morning from Kathmandu Domestic Airport, where all passengers board a high-altitude helicopter for a scenic domestic flight toward the Himalayas. The first leg of the journey takes you over the lush hills and terraced villages of eastern Nepal before getting to Lukla (2860 m). The gateway to Mt. Everest for the short refueling stop. The helicopter ascends through the Khumbu Valley, flying above iconic Sherpa settlements like Namche Bazaar and Tengboche monastery, offering magnificent aerial views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam. Depending on the chosen option, the helicopter either flies over or lands at Kala Patthar at the altitude of 5545 m, the best vantage point for close-up views of Mount Everest and the surrounding peaks—and continues to Gokyo Lake, a stunning glacial lake system nestled at 4,790 m. After capturing these breathtaking sights, the journey includes a leisurely breakfast stop at Everest View Hotel (3880 m) before returning via Lukla to Kathmandu.
