Place Information

Kathmandu: 
It is the capital, commercial, and rich cultural hub of Nepal. Kathmandu is also known as the city of temples. It is the only stop for the majority of visitors who arrive in the country, especially by air. Once a separate kingdom in itself, it contains three fabled cities: Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur. Out of ten UNESCO World Heritage Sites, seven cultural heritage sites are in Kathmandu Valley. It is believed that the Kathmandu Valley was full of water. Buddhist saint Manjushree, who slashed a passage through the surrounding hills to drain out the primordial waters and make it inhabitable.

Pokhara:
Pokhara is a remarkable place of natural beauty. Situated at an altitude of 827 m from sea level and 200 km west of Kathmandu Valley, the city is known as a center of adventure. Phewa Lake, the second largest lake in the kingdom, roughly measuring 1.5 km by 4 km, is the center of all attractions in Pokhara. It is the center of culture and adventure in Nepal. Pokhara is really pretty, located at the foothills of the Himalayas. It is a busy city amidst with tranquil valley. It is the doorway for most of Nepal’s popular trekking and rafting destinations. The city remains always full of trekkers and backpackers round the year.

Chitwan:
The Chitwan National Park, one of the richest and most well-known wildlife reserves in Asia, is situated 165 km southwest of Kathmandu. The park is one of the two UNESCO Natural World Heritage Sites, which covers an area of 932 sq. km and conserves more than 43 species of mammals, 450 out of the total estimated 750 species of birds in Nepal, many varieties of butterflies, and 45 species of amphibians and reptiles. The national park offers a unique ecosystem encompassing hills, oxbow lakes, flood plains, tall grasslands, and thick jungles dominated by sal trees (Shorea robusta).

Lumbini:
Lumbini is the birthplace of Lord Buddha, who was born in 623 BC in Lumbini, Nepal. It is southwest from Kathmandu. There are many flights to get to Lumbini from Kathmandu Airport. You can also travel by land; it takes 6 to 7 hours and is 300 km from Kathmandu. The main attractions at Lumbini remain the Sacred Garden that is spread over 8 sq. km, the Mayadevi Temple, the Ashoka Pillar, the sacred pond, the China Temple, etc. The Sacred Garden possesses all the treasures of the historic area. The Mayadevi temple is the main attraction for pilgrims and archaeologists alike.

Bandipur:
Bandipur is located on the way to Pokhara from Kathmandu. It was the main trading hub in the village area until modern road access was built in the region. Connecting to the road to the Kathmandu-Pokhara highway, it then grew and developed very quickly. The visitors can see the beautiful mountain views, including the local village. Nowadays it has become a very popular tourist destination because of natural beauty as well as authentic uniqueness.

Transportation During the Trip

Nepal Himalaya Tours, private deluxe car/Jeep for city sightseeing in Kathmandu, Chitwan, Lumbini, Bandipur, and Pokhara and other parts of the tour. We also provide domestic flights from Kathmandu to Pokhara or back as per your interest as well. For a large-sized group, we provide a deluxe Sutlej bus for the trip. So, you must confirm the group size before you travel to Nepal and for the best rate as well.

Itinerary

Arrival at Kathmandu airport, meet and receive assistance from Nepal Himalaya Tour’s representative and transfer to your hotel. In the evening, explore the local market nearby the hotel.

Morning after breakfast, you will visit the stunning UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu including Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath stupa, Bouddhanath stupa, and Pashupatinath temple on tour. All the monumental areas are historically affluent and showcase the rich cultural and artistic assets of Nepal.

Breakfast at hotel, you will drive back from Nagarkot to Kathmandu airport for flight to Pokhara, it is about 30 minutes scenic flight, check in at the hotel, refresh yourself. Later, you will have a free evening in Lakeside. You can use your time for shopping and self-exploring around downtown, a major tourist hub.

Early in the morning, we will drive to Sarangkot viewpoint for a mesmerizing sunrise view over the towering mountain peaks. The rays of sunrise painted over the sky while the mountain ranges stood golden, which will leave your jaw dropping. Enjoy the serene view of the mountain range, as well as the most breathtaking sunrise over Pokhara City. After having your breakfast at the hotel, we will get a certain time for optional activities in Pokhara. Your tour continues with a visit to the Bindhyabasini Temple, a sacred temple dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati, an incarnation of Durga. Witness the religious significance as you see the locals as well as Hindu devotees involved in different rituals. As for the last stop today, you’ll be taken to the Taal Barahi Temple, located in the middle of the Phewa Lake. To reach the temple, you will have to take a boat. Here, you can see the different rituals and pujas done by the devotees around the temple. If you’re on time, you can also witness the evening aarti session of the Barahi Temple. After your sightseeing, you will be escorted back to your hotel. In the evening, you can explore the city on your own, relax in the lakeside vibe, and have a delicious dinner accompanied by the night view of the lake.

 

Today you will short drive about 75 km. to Bandipur village. It is one of the best tourists’ destinations to see the local village, tradition, culture and local cosine. Overnight at Bandipur.

Breakfast at the hotel, then you will drive to Chitwan National Park, it will take about 3 hours. After getting the hotel refreshed with welcome drinks. You will be briefed by our nature guide. We then walk for a guided village tour and then watch the charming sunset views at the bank of the Rapti River. Evening, dinner with the Tharu cultural program. Overnight at Chitwan.

The Chitwan National Park is also one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Nepal. The Chitwan National Park is also home to rhinoceroses, tigers, leopards, wild bison, 450 types of birds, butterflies, and crocodiles as well. In the afternoon we are on an elephant safari tour in the jungle, or you can jeep drive into the jungle. Also, elephant bath activities in the Rapti River. Overnight at Chitwan.

Breakfast at the hotel, then you will drive from Chitwan to Lumbini, about 150 km. After reaching Lumbini, you will be transferred to your hotel and rest in the afternoon. Visit Maya Devi Temple, dedicated to the mother of Lord Buddha, and Sidhartha Pond, where Gautam Buddha was bathed after his birth. The rest of the time is leisure. Overnight at a hotel.

Early morning discovers the monastery at Lumbini. You will transfer to Bhairahawa airport for flight to Kathmandu. The flight duration is about 40 minutes. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. You will take a rest or visit the downtown of Thamel to buy souvenirs for your friends and family. We will have a farewell dinner with a culture program in the evening. Overnight at a hotel.
